Diane Herzog arrived at D’Youville as a transfer student, it was clear early on that she would become an exemplary member of the D’Youville family.

As the holiday season begins, Diane Herzog is reminded of fond memories as a student. “While I was attending D’Youville, there was always a holiday giving tree on campus with cards attached stating an age, gender, and gift idea to donate. It was a very special and personal way to give back to those who don’t always get a chance to ask for specific items they want or need.” It is in the spirit she experienced while at D’Youville that she continues to serve in her community today. “In my own community, I have enjoyed volunteering for the SPCA and participating in events for cancer awareness and prevention.”

After graduating from D’Youville, Diane moved to Baltimore, MD and quickly advanced to be Lead Clinical Dietitian at Medstar Franklin Square Medical Center. She attributes the D’Youville internship program to giving her an advantage when applying for jobs. “In a traditional dietetic internship, interns spend 10-15 weeks straight at one facility. The D’Youville internship allowed me to rotate through multiple different hospitals with shorter time frames. Experiencing so many different patient populations was incredibly beneficial. I became able to adapt to different environments quickly. I was also able to gain experience working on multiple electronic medical record systems.”
