Men’s Basketball’s Canahai Named AMCC Player of the Week

Buffalo, NY (1/17/11)-D’Youville College men’s basketball player
Shane Canahai (North Tonawanda, NY/Starpoint) was named Allegheny
Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the period of
competition between January 10-16.
In two games played
last week, both on the road against conference opponents, the six-foot
three junior forward recorded his first-ever back-to-back twenty point
or more games. January 12th at Hilbert Canahai scored 20 points to go
with six rebounds and three steals. January 15th in the Spartan’s 63-60
win at Pitt-Greensburg Canahai scored a career-high 29 points and
grabbed eight rebounds.
For the week Canahai shot 54.5% from the floor (18-33) and was 13 of 16 at the foul line (81.3%).
D’Youville
is in fourth place in the AMCC with a 4-4 record (4-11 overall) and
plays at Medaille College today (Jan. 17) at 5:00 p.m.
