D’YOUVILLE NAMES NEW TRUSTEES

BUFFALO – D’Youville College has named four local individuals to its
Board of Trustees for a three-year term.
They include Andrew
Cappuccino, M.D., Cheryl A. Howe, Carl J. Montante, and Michelle E.
Swygert.
Dr. Cappuccino is a nationally known orthopedic surgeon
and spine specialist and owner of Buffalo Spine Surgery. He is the
inventor of the PCM Artificial Cervical Disk and implantation equipment
for the spine. Dr. Cappuccino is an attending surgeon at a number of
local hospitals. He is a graduate of the University at Buffalo School
of Medicine and earned degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Material
Science at Johns Hopkins University.
Cheryl Howe is Executive
Vice President of Operations at Blue Cross/Blue Shield of WNY and has
served in executive positions at the organization since 1986. She is
the chair of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra Board of Trustees and
serves on the boards of Buffalo Niagara Enterprise and the Foundation
for Healthy Living. Howe is a graduate of D’Youville College and the
University at Buffalo.
Mr. Montante is founder, president and
managing director of Uniland Development Co., a full service commercial
real estate company based in Amherst. He serves on the boards of
numerous local institutions including the Catholic Health System, Holy
Angels Academy, Buffalo-Niagara Partnership and the Foundation of the
Catholic Diocese of Buffalo. He is a graduate of Canisius College and
the University at Buffalo School of Law.
Michelle M. Swygert is a
Unit Manager in the Behavioral Health Department of the Erie County
Medical Center and is president of the D’Youville Alumni Association
Board of Directors. She is a member of the New York State Nurses
Association. Ms. Swygert earned her bachelor's degree at D'Youville and
her master’s from the University at Buffalo.
