D’YOUVILLE NAMES TWO NEW DEANS

BUFFALO – D’Youville has named two new deans for key departments at the
private college. Judith H. Lewis, Ed. D. will become Dean of the School
of Nursing and David M. Whitehorse, Ed.S., Ed.D. will be Dean of the
School of Education.
Lewis will leave her current position as
Associate Dean of the McAuley School of Nursing at the University of
Detroit Mercy to join D’Youville. Previously, she was Director of
Nursing Education at the University of Akron, and Associate Dean of
Administration and Practice at Marquette University School of Nursing.
A
graduate of Ohio State University College of Nursing where she earned
her undergraduate and master’s degrees, she holds a doctorate of
education from the University of Cincinnati.
Whitehorse
served as Director of Professional Programs and Associate Dean for the
California State University at San Marcos and as a Director of
Educational Leadership and Innovative Reform for Alliant International
University in California.
At CSUSM he was responsible for all
undergraduate and graduate professional education program, curricula
development and maintained curricular compliance for state, regional
and national accreditation. He is a Professor Emeritus of Education at
CSU San Marcos.
A graduate of the University of California at
San Diego, Whitehorse earned a master’s degree in Urban and Regional
Planning from the University of Hawaii, an Educational Specialist
Degree from Point Loma Nazarene University and his doctorate in
Education Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
Whitehorse is a decorated Marine Corp combat veteran.
Both will start in time for the fall semester at D’Youville.
