Overall Goal: $8 million. D’Youville is celebrating its Centennial by focusing on two key initiatives:
The construction of a Academic/student Services Building
The development of a pharmacy program
Academic/Student Services Building
This six-story 75,000 square-foot building, to be constructed at the corner of Fargo Avenue and Connecticut Street, will house state-of-the-art mixed use classrooms and science and computer laboratories. This facility is not only for the pharmacy program but other science and health-related programs. The new building will become the capstone of the college and create an environment that will bring the entire campus together.
Seventy-five percent of the construction costs will be covered by the college’s plant fund and long-term financing. D’Youville is asking alumni, friends, corporations and foundations to assist in raising the remaining 25% of costs relating to this important project.
Pharmacy Program
Currently there is a nationally recognized shortage of pharmacists to meet the needs of communities, hospitals, extended care facilities and other healthcare agencies. The development of a pharmacy program demonstrates D’Youville’s commitment to the health professions and community, ensuring that there are sufficient numbers of highly trained professionals to meet the growing needs of an aging population.
